Link North supports innovative entrepreneurs and Small-Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) across far northeast Ontario.

Link North is the regional innovation centre supporting innovative entrepreneurs and businesses across far northeastern Ontario:

  • Timmins and area, including Gogama and Foleyet
  • Communities along the Highway 11 corridor from Hearst to Earlton, including Kirkland Lake
  • Indigenous communities along the James Bay Coast, including Moosonee, Moose Factory, Fort Albany, Kashechewan and Attawapiskat

Link North’s operations are supported with project-based funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor). Link North also receives financial and in-kind support from the Timmins Economic Development Corporation, a department of the City of Timmins.

Al works with Link North clients to develop, commercialize, scale, modernize or grow their product or technology. Al supports his clients with their goals and vision through various stages of the business cycle. Al is bilingual and supports clients in both official languages to access Boost funding and connect with our bank of consultants.

Al has been working with the local business community for over 10 years with work experience in the commercial insurance industry as well as small business and commercial banking. He has a Diploma in Commerce from Collège Boréal.

Ross oversees the development of Link North and he works closely with staff and our Bank of Consultants on developing and delivering its programs and services. When you become a Link North client you will work with Ross on your project and business development. 

Ross is well-connected with innovation ecosystem partners and has vast and proven experience with assisting entrepreneurs and businesses with applied research, commercialization, scale-up, and expansion projects. In addition to fostering Link North’s programs and services, Ross develops and manages various Timmins Economic Development Corporation projects including Mining Supply and Services and the Industrial Technology Benefits program for Defense Procurement.

Ross recently obtained his Business Accounting diploma through Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He is a certified Economic Development Professional (EcD) through the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC).
